Young Carers Action Day 2026: New Resources Released to Support ‘Fair Futures for Young Carers’

We are pleased to highlight the launch of new national resources ahead of Young Carers Action Day 2026, taking place on Wednesday 11 March 2026. This annual awareness day, led by Carers Trust, shines a spotlight on the vital role of young carers and calls for stronger recognition, support, and opportunities to help them thrive.

This year’s theme, “Fair Futures for Young Carers,” focuses on ensuring that children and young people with caring responsibilities have equal chances to learn, grow and achieve their full potential. The campaign emphasises the need for improved support pathways in education, wellbeing, and personal development

Safeguarding in Education DSL Network – Term 3, 2025–2026

Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) from across Bristol came together this term for a comprehensive update on national guidance, local safeguarding developments, emerging risks, and multi‑agency partnership work. The session, led by the Safeguarding in Education Team alongside key partners including Barnardo’s, Prevent, MASH and Safer Connections, highlighted several significant changes and priority areas for schools.

Action for all settings: UKHSA and MHRA advice to stop using some non-sterile alcohol-free wipes

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have advised the public not to use four non‑sterile, alcohol‑free wipes due to infection risk associated with their use.

Safer Together: New Resource to Support Schools Responding to Local Youth Tensions

Schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire are continuing to work closely with Avon & Somerset Police, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council in response to the “red and blue” tensions affecting some secondary settings. To support schools in managing these challenges, Unique Voice has developed a dedicated, trauma‑informed intervention called Safer Together.
