This training for early years, primary, secondary and post-16 settings will help senior leaders understand the impact of critical incidents and how to respond effectively. It will be co-delivered by the Educational Psychology Service and the Safeguarding in Education Team.
Whilst critical incidents are always unanticipated, having a pre-prepared response can reduce pressure on staff and support a timely, coordinated response.
This training will help leaders to review or develop their setting's contingency plan, drawing on research, evidence and practical experience to explore the key elements of a critical incident response, alongside important contextual considerations.
Our aim is to equip leaders with the knowledge and practical tools needed to prepare for and manage a critical incident.
