Webinar: Seasonal flu vaccine 2026/27 – preparing your school for the autumn programme (Wednesday 24 June 2026, 16:00 – 17:15)

On Wednesday 24 June 2026, 16:00 – 17:15, UK Health Security Agency, NHS England and the Department for Education will be jointly hosting a webinar to help school staff prepare for the autumn 2026/27 seasonal flu vaccination programme.

The session will cover:

• The importance of flu vaccination for children's health and learning
• The UK childhood immunisation schedule and how the flu vaccine works
• How schools can work effectively with their local School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) team to maximise consent return rates
• Resources and materials available to help you communicate the vaccine offer to parents and carers

This webinar is aimed at education professionals and local authority officers including:

• Headteachers and senior school leaders
• School administrative and pastoral staff involved in managing immunisation consent, communications with parents and carers, and liaison with SAIS teams
• Local authority education staff, including those with responsibility for elective home education
• Education professionals working in settings supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
